Anisa Hagi-Mohamed is a Somali-American linguist, writer, artist, and entrepreneur based in Bloomington, Minnesota, with community ties in Saint Cloud, San Diego, and Fresno. Holding degrees in Applied Linguistics, she blends her expertise with advocacy, creating Kalsooni, the world's first Somali-English affirmation cards, Waan Isku Kalsoonahay, a children’s book on autism, and My Diasporic Diary.
Anisa, a passionate autism advocate, supports families as Program Manager at Let’s Talk Healing and helped coin the Somali term "Maangaar" (Unique Mind) to reduce stigma. A 2023 TedX speaker and Finnovation Fellow, she runs Anisa Hagi, LLC, offering workshops and culturally rooted products. Anisa also serves on the boards of Maangaar Voices, Lyricality, and The Waterers, focusing on storytelling, culture, and community. Featured in outlets like BBC Somali and PBS Newshour, she continues to inspire positive change.
